AI INDEX PRO ("the App") is a Shopify application that helps merchants optimize their online stores for AI search engines and traditional SEO. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you install and use our App.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Store Data

When you install AI INDEX PRO, we access and store:

• Shop domain and basic store information
• Product data: titles, descriptions, images, handles, SEO metadata, pricing
• Collection, page, and blog post data: titles, handles, and URLs
• Theme settings: only to verify if our theme extension is active (read-only)
• Order referral data: referring site URLs from orders (no customer personal information)

2.2 Data We Generate

Through your use of the App, we create and store:

• Optimized product descriptions and SEO metadata
• Generated FAQs for products
• Schema.org structured data
• GEO Readiness Scores
• AI keyword suggestions
• IndexNow submission logs
• LLM Outreach activity logs
• Deep Research analysis results
• Blog post content and images
• AI traffic analytics (aggregated, non-personal)

2.3 Data We Do NOT Collect

• No customer personal information (names, emails, addresses, phone numbers)
• No payment or financial data from your customers
• No browsing behavior of your customers
• No cookies on your storefront (our theme extensions do not set cookies)

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data exclusively to:

• Optimize your product listings for AI and traditional search engines
• Generate Schema.org markup and FAQ content
• Submit your store URLs to search engines via IndexNow
• Generate llms.txt files for AI crawlers
• Perform market research and competitor analysis
• Create blog post content
• Track AI platform referral traffic (aggregated)
• Calculate your GEO Readiness Score
• Provide the services described in the App

4. Third-Party Services

AI INDEX PRO uses the following third-party AI services to power its features:

• OpenAI (GPT-4o-mini): Product optimization, FAQ generation, keyword suggestions
• Anthropic (Claude): Deep research and blog writing
• Google AI (Gemini): Blog post image generation
• IndexNow API: URL submission to Bing, Yandex, and participating search engines

When we send data to these services, we only transmit product information (titles, descriptions) — never customer personal data. All third-party services are subject to their own privacy policies.

5. Data Storage and Security

• All data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway (cloud infrastructure)
• Data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
• We follow industry-standard security practices
• Access to the database is restricted to authorized personnel only
• No customer personal data is ever stored in our database

6. Data Retention

• Your data is retained for as long as the App is installed on your store
• Upon uninstallation, your authentication sessions are immediately deleted
• If you request complete data deletion (GDPR shop/redact), ALL store data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems

7. GDPR Compliance

AI INDEX PRO fully complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Right to Access: You can view all your stored data within the App at any time
• Right to Deletion: We honor all Shopify GDPR webhooks. When a shop/redact request is received, all data associated with your store is permanently deleted
• Customer Data Requests: Since we do not store customer personal information, customer data request and customer redact webhooks are acknowledged but require no action
• Data Processing: We process data only as necessary to provide the App's services

8. Shopify's Role

AI INDEX PRO operates within the Shopify ecosystem. Shopify's own Privacy Policy governs how Shopify handles your store data. Our App accesses your store data only through Shopify's authenticated API with the permissions you grant during installation.

9. Children's Privacy

AI INDEX PRO is a business tool designed for Shopify merchants. We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 16.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
